Boston Marathon 2019

Strength to Strength has a team of 4 runners committed to fundraising $16,000 (4k each) to fund programs and activities. Meet our 2019 Strength to Strength Boston Marathon Team:

Scott Weisberg is a 49 year old family physician and marathon runner residing in Birmingham, Alabama who, while accomplishing his dream of running the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, had his life, along with so many others, changed forever. Since 2013, he has learned to live with his injuries of bilateral hearing loss for which he now wears hearing aids permanently, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), hyperacusis (sensitivity to sounds), post traumatic stress disorder and a mild traumatic brain injury.

David Roher started exercising at the age of 38, after his father's heart attack. He competed in his first Triathlon the following year and  fell in love with endurance sports. Three years later, he crossed the finish line at Ironman Cozumel. As a veteran special education teacher, the transition to coach came naturally.  David has always seen training as an opportunity to help others. 

Doug Julian was at the Boston Marathon  finish line, in 2013, with his longtime partner,  Lynn Crisci. While Doug smaller physical injuries, Lynn suffers daily with permanent  brain injury, back injury, hearing loss, hyperacusis, severe tinnitus and PTSD. Doug dedicates much of his free time to volunteering, creating awareness and funding  for Charities Changing people’s lives...Which is exactly what Strength To Strength does.

Angela Diciccio aka Angie, lives in SF but is from Massachusetts and this will be her third Boston Marathon - each hallmarking an incredibly different transition in her life! "It's an incredible honor to be running with the STS team and sharing in this experience with a tribe so strong and resilient. I'm best known for being a silly, energetic runner with a big heart and lots of stories." 

This year’s Boston marathon, on April 15, 2019, is particularly special, as it falls on the anniversary of the attack. 4/15 is now known as One Boston Day, “A day of giving.” Please join in supporting Strength to Strength’s mission of uniting survivors and bereaved families impacted by terrorism. As Survivors, along with our families and friends, running is part of our healing. You can “Pay It Forward,” this  One Boston Day, by helping us help others heal.
