Strength to Strength Welcomes New Board Members Hillary Barr, Danny Eisen & Judie Singer and New Advisory Board Member Peter Kelly

Strength to Strength is honored to add to its incredible Board of Directors and Advisory Board the following individuals:

Hillary Barr was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and attended Yeshiva of Flatbush elementary and high school. She the attended the University of Florida, graduating with a BS in Nursing. Hillary worked in New York Hospital Pediatric ICU and then Mount Sinai Hospital Cardiac ICU. She then worked at Starr Securities as a Syndicate Manager. Currently, she works at Orre Management. She has been engaged and involved in various organizations including the Board of Education of Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, Board Member of AMCHA Coalition for Jewish Concerns, Member of Holistic Health Care Providers, National Association of Nurses, AIPAC, FIDF, Standing Together and the founder of Mother's Against Terrorism. Hillary is best known in the Jewish community for being the main coordinator of the major grass roots rallies/protests and prayer vigils for the past 15+ years. She is the proud  mother of four incredible children - Jackie, Stefani, Billy and Robby.

Danny Eisen is a cofounder of C-CAT -- the Canadian Coalition Against Terror. C-CAT is a research and advocacy group comprised of terror victims, counterterrorism professionals, legal experts and others, dedicated to building bridges between the private and public sectors in the battle against terror. C-CAT has been publicly lauded for its efforts by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and by elected officials from all federal parties represented in Canada’s Parliament.  Victor Comras, a former UN diplomat and terrorism expert, described C-CAT as “one of the most useful and effective private citizen organizations, contributing to the international counter-terrorism effort”. C-CAT was also described in a UN publication as a “leading national organization” on behalf of terror victims.

Over the last 20 years Danny has worked with the Parliament of the Canada, the U.S. Congress & the Parliament of Australia on initiatives relating to hostage-taking and terrorism. In Canada, Danny led the 8 year campaign for the passage of the Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act (JVTA) passed by Parliament in 2012. He also led the successful campaign to have 9/11 declared a National Day of Service in Canada. In 2012, Danny was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal on the floor of the Canadian Senate in recognition of his work on terrorism. Danny is a cousin to Daniel Lewin, a Special Forces officer murdered while fighting terrorists on American Airlines flight #11, the first plane to hit the WTC on the morning of 9/11.

Judie Singer was born in Brooklyn, NY and is the owner of By Invitation Only, a party planning business which has been around for over 30 years. In addition to having her own business, she worked for 17 years in the public school system with special needs children. Judie has been involved in working and volunteering for a number of organizations over the past 40 years including Kimball Medial Center, Ocean County Republican Party, Lakewood Republican Club, Ocean County Jewish Federation, Hadassah, Chai Lifeline, American Heart Association, Susan B. Komen, working with the homeless and countless others. Currently, Judie sits on the board of her synagogue and on the sisterhood board where she is very involved in various aspects including fundraising. Judie life had been personally impacted by terrorism on June 11, 2003 when her daughter, Sarri was on bus #14 in Jerusalem when a terrorist boarded and detonated. Sarri was one of over 100 people injured and luckily survived. This has made the work of Strength to Strength so important to her and very personal.

Peter Kelly is Northern Ireland Program Manager at the Washington DC-based Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy (IMTD).  His work there integrates 17 years of involvement in civil society counter terrorism, political activism, lobbying and published journalism in Northern Ireland, the UK, the US and Australia.  Peter has assisted Northern Ireland terrorism victims with political and media strategies for over a decade including those who took historic civil court action against the perpetrators of 'Ireland's September 11th'.  He has advocated in several parliaments for counter terrorism and pro-survivor legislation including assisting the 2013 Ann's Law campaign and the Bali Survivors in Western Australia. Peter has spoken at international counter terrorism conferences throughout Europe, South America and Australia, and at Universities on both coasts of the United States on the priority of supporting terrorism victims and their welfare. He recently completed a Master's in International Peace & Conflict from Notre Dame's Kroc Institute.
