STUDENTS FROM KIRYAT SHMONA RECEIVE GIFTS
As families return North after having to leave because of the missile attacks, Strength to Strength (Formerly One Heart) surprised them with gifts for the new school year. Mrs. Leah Ehrlich, Prinicipal of Tel Chai Public School said that they are currently preparing for the upcoming school year that begins on Sunday September 3, 2006 and explained the difficulty remaining in Kiryat Shmona while hundreds of missiles were sent to hurt and kill them. She said that one of her students were killed in the attacks and there were no remains left for the parents to bury. The school became a place for people to receive information and hide from the danger. Presented to the Tel Chai Public School were packages of school supplies for the students for the new school year. "We know how financially difficult it is right now for the families of Kiryat Shmona. Now the children need to return to class without one of their friends. There are those that are hurt and those that lost their homes. This is not easy for any of them." said Mrs. Ehrlich. The packages will be given to the students on the day they return to school. We would to thank Michael Mandelstam and Lauren Sokolow and their campers for making cards to put in each package to the students. We would also like to thank Camp Mesorah for inviting Sarri Singer to share her story with the campers and having them participate in this special project as well as their donation to this initiative to help the school children return to classes with proper school supplies.
