7the of July Bombings – Caring for Those Affected – Lessons Learned Conference
On March 10th a conference hosted by the UK Government that consisted of professionals in the field who assist victims of terrorism as well as emergency preparedness came together to discuss lessons learned for moving forward. 250 people were in attendance and Paulo Pimentel, Director 7th of July Assistance Center, one of our partner organizations addressed the group. The 7th of July Assistance Center was established immediately after the London bombings and today reaches out to victims in the UK from the London bombings of July 7, 2005 as well as 16 other terror incidents that occurred throughout the region.
The conference titled “Lessons Learned” was successful in showing what each organization has learned from the attacks the responses to assistance for victims throughout England. Various individuals from government departments and organizations that assisted in the disaster relief spoke about their role. This conference was vital in helping them determine the long –term needs necessary and how to prepare for emergency situations in the future.
