PFAP & Strength to Strength Present Words HAVE Power!
On June 22nd, Party For A Purpose (PFAP) was thrilled to open up the clubhouse for an exclusive event, hosted by founder of PFAP, Melissa Jane Kronfeld, who serves on the advisory board of Strength to Strength.
Words Have Power - a series created by Lisa Weiss, member of Strength to Strength, is a unique opportunity to feature true stories of triumph over tragedy from the survivors of terrorist attacks themselves. The first event featured Consolee Nishimwe, a survivor of the atrocities which occurred in Rwanda in the 1990s.
Melissa Jane introduced Strength to Strength founder Sarri Singer as the more then two dozen hand selected guests enjoyed light bites and a white wine bar.
Sarri, who survived a terrorist attack on a bus in Jerusalem over a decade ago, discussed why it is so important for survivors to recount - and share their testaments.
Lisa discusses the inspiration behind the Words Have Power series and how important the services provided by Strength to Strength have been to her and her family, who joined that evening.
Consolee shared a video about her heart wrenching story before she began to recount her harrowing and unbearable tale, which brought many in the audience to tears. The PFAP team was so moved by Consolee’s tale they offered to match every donation made that night - dollar-to-dollar - resulting in more then $800 collected in support Strength to Strength’s survivor services.
Following Consolee’s story, the audience heard from Lisa’s cousin Michal Leah Levine whose father, Rabbi Kalman Levine, was killed in a 2014 terrorist attack on a synagogue in Har Nof, Israel where he was praying.
By sharing their stories - all three women are, as Sarri noted, part of a family they did not pick, but one which they are eternally grateful that they have. Regardless of their differences, they are united by their experiences, and the experiences of those like them, who Strength to Strength serves.
PFAP were so humbled to have had the opportunity to bring together so many amazing women in a single night and look forward to hosting another Words Have Power soon.
