Words Have Power Series June 22, 2015
On the evening of June 22nd, Strength to Strength will host the inaugural discussion of Words Have Power, an educational series dedicated to sharing firsthand accounts by victims of terror around the world and providing a forum for professional experts to discuss the global implications of terrorism. This will be the inaugural event featuring Consolee Nishimwe, a survivor of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. She suffered physical and emotional torture during her three months in hiding and miraculously survived with her mother and younger sister. Today, Consolee is a committed speaker on the genocide, a defender of women rights and an advocate for other genocide survivors. In 2012, Consolee released her memoir Tested to the Limit: A Genocide Survivor’s Story of Pain, Resilience and Hope. Discussions will be scheduled 6 times a year.
