Strength to Strength's Boston Summer 2017 Programs

Two special programs took place over summer 2017 in Boston -- Strength to Strength's June "Escape to the Cape" and our  August Weekend Retreat. Both weekends included survivors from the Boston Marathon spending time together to gain support in order to help each other move forward.

"Escape to the Cape" has become a really special weekend. Thanks to the generosity of one of our survivors, 20 survivors spent June 16-18 weekend together in a beautiful home relaxing, taking walks/runs to the beach, a BBQ and an evening fire making smores. The group ranged from ages 14 and up and one of our survivors woke up very early to make her famous Southern style 4 berry pie which was absolutely incredible!!! We had dinner at one of the local restaurants and walked to watched the seals from the Fish Pier. Sharing this experience together brings everyone closer like a big family. We can't wait until next summers Escape again.

On the weekend of August 25, 2017, over thirty survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombing and 9/11 came together for a weekend of connection and support for our "Boston Weekend Retreat". Thanks once again for the generous donation, the Boston Commons Hotel gave us a home away from home for the weekend. The group came together to share experiences and heal. Survivors came from New York, Maine, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Boston. We shared our stories, enjoyed the beautiful city and people of Boston and spent some time paying it forward to help others.

One participant from the weekend commented, "I look forward to our Strength to Strength retreats as it help us move forward...together. We never feel alone".

This is what our weekend retreats are all about. Bringing those together who have had similar experiences.  Everyone left the weekend feeling stronger and looking forward to the next one.

We would like to thank the following companies for assisting in making the weekend a huge success: Boston Commons Hotel and Conference Center, Max Brenner Restaurant, Shear Madness, Shun Kitchen, Panera Bread and Dunkin Donuts. This weekend could not have been possible without all of these incredible companies working with us and we look forward to working with them again in the future. Special thank you to Strength to Strength's Young Executives Division who raised the funds for this important weekend retreat.

If you or anyone you know has been in a terrorist attack and would like to join one of our future retreats or programs, please email info@stosglobal.org.
